To qualify as a legal executive you must complete all three stages of the qualification.
The first year you will complete the ILEX Certificate in Law and Practice this is at Level 3 (equivalent to A Level). After successful completion of the Certificate you will then be required to study the ILEX Diploma in Law and Practice, also at Level 3. The subjects you study on these qualifications can be found under ‘courses’ or on ILEX website at www.ilex.org.uk.
On the successful completion of the Certificate and Diploma you will then be required to sit 6 specialist subjects at Level 6 (equivalent to degree level). Two of these are the mandatory skills units. This part of the qualification will take two years.
The ILEX Graduate 'Fast-Track' Diploma is a new qualification designed solely to accredit legal practice knowledge and understanding. It is aimed at individuals (such as law graduates) with significant and broad experience of the law, but who need a qualification in relation to Legal Practice in order to complete their legal studies. This Diploma enables graduates to access work opportunities faster and access to law firms.
If you already hold a qualifying law degree awarded within the last seven years, you just need to study two ILEX Level 6 Practice units (one of which must relate to the subjects you studied within your law degree), and the ILEX Level 6 Client Care Skills unit to complete your academic studies.
